ARCHĒA
Rejection & abandonment

You know you would survive being rejected. Your body still acts like you might not.

Fear of rejection can make a small shift in somebody else's behaviour feel enormous. A delayed reply. A different tone. A little distance. Suddenly your entire nervous system is paying attention.

Why can rejection feel bigger than the present moment?

Because the current situation may be activating much older associations around belonging, worth, closeness or being left.

Your conscious mind can know that one person's response does not determine your value.

The emotional response may still carry a very different meaning.

What can fear of rejection look like?

Is this the same as anxious attachment?

It can overlap with patterns people describe as anxious attachment, but a label is not the whole explanation.

ARCHĒA looks underneath the label at the specific beliefs, memories and meanings attached to rejection or distance for you.

Katie's perspective:

The question is often not, “Why am I so sensitive?” It is, “When did distance become evidence that something was wrong with me?”

How does Root Cause Therapy work with this?

Through focused conversation and hypnosis, the session explores earlier experiences and emotional associations that may connect with the present-day response.

The aim is not to convince you that rejection can never happen.

It is to work with what rejection has come to mean about you.
